No Refunds will be given. The Butts and Beans BBQ Challenge will be held rain or shine.
Are well defined in grass/pavement areas. Teams may arrive as early as 8 am on Friday morning. Teams wishing to arrive earlier should call ahead to make sure we can get you parked on Thursday evening.
Electricity and water will be provided but all teams will need to provide extension cords (at least 100 feet) and water hoses (at least 100 feet). Standard 110 plug ins and 30 amp plugs are available. Please note what you will need so we can try our best to accommodate your needs.
Only one truck, used for pulling your cooker or trailer, or one camper will be allowed to park within the competition area. We will provide two parking passes for a competitor only parking area for other vehicles. Most spaces will be limited to a 20 x 40 parking area but extra space may be provided for larger vehicles such as RVs. Please let us know ahead of time if you will need a larger parking area.
This event is sanctioned by the Kansas City BBQ Society (KCBS). Two KCBS representatives will be present beginning Friday morning. Judging will begin Saturday at noon. The Professional BBQ portion of the competition will consist of chicken, pork ribs, pork, and beef brisket. The Backyard BBQ portion of the contest will consist of Pork and Ribs.
Showers and restrooms will be available at the fairgrounds.
